Some characteristics of the electrical cables



Aluminium or aluminium alloy electrical conductors are now in widespread use or are being developed in the following areas:
  • Overhead lines
  • Electrical energy distribution and trasport cables
  • Energy cables for industrial use

Their use has been extended to such new field as:flexible cables, enamelled wires, special cables. As far as flexible cables are concerned, aluminium is interesting not only for its light weight and low cost, but also because it lends itself to surface treatment, especially metallic coating.
